Counselling is available on a one to one basis, using a person centred approach. For male and females experiencing problems relating to alcohol, drugs or gambling. Individuals can self refer and referrals can be made, on a clients behalf, by other agencies.

Neca's Dales service is part of a multi agency service, working in partnership to provide a full package of care to individuals using alcohol and illicit substances or needing support and counselling about gambling. Neca provides structured one to one counselling within the centre and also at outreach venues in Weardale and Teesdale. Parents and carers can also access all of our services.

Providing planned counselling on a one to one basis, using the person centred approach. The service is accessed via an appointment system, with the majority of clients being seen in the Gateshead centre, the Outreach Counsellor will see clients at various locations across the borough of Gateshead. This service is also available on an evening, twice a week, increasing accessibility for clients who work full time. Three part time, volunteer counsellors assist the two full time, and three part time counsellors, ensuring a wide range of skills and experience are available to all clients. This service is available to males and females, aged 18 years upward.

Any under 18’s referred to Sunderland Youth Drug and Alcohol Project (YDAP). Open access and external agency referral. Attendance at project is by appointment only.
