SHARP Helps Raise Awareness of Services in North Tyneside November 10, 2011
Davy Allan from the Harm Reduction Service once again took to the community of North Tyneside to increase awareness of the services helping to keep the community safer, those supporting individuals and families and offering advice and information.
Davy said “ The multiagency days are very useful not only for the community, but also for the services themselves as we get to network with those we don’t know and keep up to date with those we do”.
Lots of people came to gather information about the Harm Reduction Service and to speak to Davy about various topics. Everyone said it was beneficial to the community to be made aware of such services as often the subject of drugs is not discussed.
Members of the public were offered promotional materials as well as literature on pertinent subjects such as overdose awareness, safe disposal of sharps and who to inform if a needle is found in a public area.
