Volunteering Services Information

 

North East Council On Addictions (NECA), promotes and encourages the participation of volunteers in all areas of its work. NECA recognises the different but equally valuable contribution of Volunteers in complementing the work of its employees.

We believe that an investment should be made in our Volunteers in terms of their personal development. To this end we will provide regular and on-going support, supervision and training to enable Volunteers to enhance their volunteering work, gain experience thereby providing the opportunity to seek employment in the wider community. All staff vacancies are advertised internally and NECA welcomes applications from Volunteers who have the knowledge, experience and where appropriate qualifications, to become members of staff. Volunteering activities include:

The following Volunteer Placement positions are currently available:

Administrator – Gateshead

An Administration worker for the In 2 Change service

The position will include basic administration duties including filing, making appointments, answering the phone and reception duties

Administrator – South Tyne

To provide administrative support.

The successful volunteer will be an efficient and approachable first point of contact for all service users, carers and internal/external agencies. They will ensure that the reception/handling of telephone calls runs smoothly and that the information library is up to date and maintained to ensure all service users can obtain relevant information.

Complementary Therapist – Darlington

Working as part of the service that provides a range of one-one and group complementary therapies. Volunteers wishing to engage in Complementary Therapies will be required to have a minimum Diploma in Holisitic Complementary Therapy prior to their start.

Support Worker – Darlington

To work alongside existing team members providing advice and information and a range of structured activities and opportunities to individuals and groups.
