Based at Fraser House we have two dedicated Young Peoples Outreach Workers who work in Partnership with the Derwentside Healthy Living Partnership. The premise of the work provided is harm reduction giving young people the facts so that they can make informed decisions about their life style.

Our workers offer:

• drug and alcohol education and awareness raising in the form of group work or on a one to one basis. Work with other relevant local agencies to promote harm reduction and healthy lifestyle
• One to one counselling and support to anyone under 25

The service is offered to young people under 25, under 16 with consent from a responsible adult, professionals and carers.

Working hours are flexible on request

Gateshead Young Peoples Outreach Project

Provides information, advice, support, counselling and substance misuse education - this service is available to all young people in Gateshead. The Project also offers support to young people whose lives are affected by a family member or carers substance use.

The project supports young people up to the age of 18.

The service offers appointments and awareness raising sessions outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of young people currently in education, training or work - or for groups of young people who attend young groups on an evening or weekends.
